Two Months of Innocence and Wisdom
Perceptions of life before the abrupt intrusion of life
The world is a bouquet on which I dine.
Enraptured by all I behold
unquestioning and unrelenting
I relish all that is cast before me as if divine.
Fear and judgement I know not.
All is for my eyes to consume
the world is mine to devour
freedom to explore is my bequeathed lot.
Drawing all to me, I rejoice in life’s wonder.
Limitations, boundaries — I know none
I thirst for life, I savour my world
I am innocence, I am free to ponder.
Must change deform all I adore?
Will experience distort and malign my view?
Cannot this spellbound wonder continue to grace my thoughts?
Alas, I grow and this innocence will disappear forever more.
