Judgements and criticisms burn, but leave no visual scars

Eyes bursting
fingers outstretched
a giggle of unknown limits
young hopes stumble forward
baby steps
tentative
feeling the world
finding life’s softness
touching futures

Hands calling
eyes entreating
voices of belief
possibilities unhindered
hope bursts
sunshine swells
praise unending
gushes of what if…

Differences found
words like fists
sneers of exclusion
differences understood
voices cutting
barbs piercing
hearts crying

Boats adrift
expectations scream
avenues distracted
molded, crushed, limited
opportunities ghosted
success a distant window
