The pendulum of emotion swings in your piece with a thundering silence. I agree there is little more decimating to starting a day than headlines over morning coffee. It is like starting your day with Macbeth's act 5 sc 5 speech, "Tomorrow and tomorrow..." speech. The headlines are 'tales told by idiots full of sound and fury and signifying nothing.'

As for the murky grayness surrounding the direction of love in our world, this morning over coffee I turned to the floating magical lyrics of 'David Gates and Bread.' Steaming coffee, a love by your side and the open palm of nature stretched before one's eyes. Peace and wonder it whispers beside us sometimes meek but always there.

Yes, there is a duty to that picture. It starts after I drink in my world.

Children need to be taught that appreciation.
