The Achilles heel of the human species is that we look outside ourselves for immediate satiating solutions to ease our temporary discomfort and in that way avoid the pain of looking within ourselves for truth which necessitates honest change and the acceptance that we are far from the greatest, most evolved, beings to grace the planet.

Can Attenborough's postulations be held in the same esteem as the Meditations by Marcus Aurelius? Should not Attenborough's thoughts be required discussion in our early education system, and not merely as gloom documentaries on Netflix?

As Aurelius said, "You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realise this and you will find strength."

Then surely if we surrender the power of our mind to consumerism and the herd mentality as prescribed by the 1%, then we abdicate control of outside events and our planet to the voracious appetite on the unconscionable few.

Thank you Umair, your words are always worthy to be combined with 'eye of newt and hair of toad' in a worthwhile witches brew of provocative discussion.
