Thanks for the Drama Queen intro, yet the premise, for me is faulted. Your opening argument, that one would assume the introduction of a black woman into a room necessitates the arrival of a ‘drama queen’, is an attitude I have never taken, considered or even had slightest quantum inkling of.
A ‘drama queen’ as you rightly define in contemporary urban dictionaries is a behavioral persona projected to all and sundry. It has nothing to do with ethnicity or color.
I do not doubt you may have experienced such treatment, and in no way belittle such derogatory assumptions, but equally please do not assume all readers would ever consider that which plagues you is how others view the world.
It is egregious to assume attitudes towards others. That is the seedling of racism. I urge you to pause and rephrase your polemic to avoid castigating generalizations.
This kind of tar and feathering is similar, by your assumptions, to seeing a white male walk into any establishment and everyone assumes he is a white supremacist who will ‘manspalin’ his misogynistic chauvinistic attitudes.
Hey, Maybe he just came to check the thermostat or the water meter.
Leading your quality article with that assumption is below your high standards.
If expectation is the root of disappointment then assumptions are the crumbling foundations of arrogance.
Thank you for your perspective.
