As a relative 'newbie' on Medium, I find your article both enlightening and distressing.

You are obviously a talented writer and the loss of a quality voice will be a detriment to Medium.

This morning I stumbled across three articles encouraging writers to leave the floundering ship that is Medium and jump to Newsbreak, Vocal or Stumblestack. It is disheartening.

Yet what I find more distressing is that the quality of articles on Medium is also dropping. Though I have only participated as a writer for eight months, the plethroa of grammar errors in articles that have huge numbers of reads is distressing and the inconsistency within the articles is troubling. It is as if various segments were palgerized and then bridged by poor writing solely for the purpose of financial gain.

The remuneration at Medium for me has been paltry however the recent drop in quality content is more distressing when I know there are good writers on the platform. The dilution of quality is distressing.
