Thank you, a very informative and enlightening article. I have, however, a bone to pick. Often the fact (or ‘presumed’ fact as all data is relevant) that most indie authors (70+%) fail to sell more than 100 copies of their book during its lifetime rather negates your math. There are those who do, and no doubt many of those have benefited from the guidance of Sterling and Stone, but we must also remember 36,500 copies per year is a far cry from 100. We must all remember that if reality is the foundation of growth, then a unbridled expectation is the root of disappointment. Not to detract, this is an excellent article.
