It is interesting to see that so much of Medium is consumed by the American view of the racial divide that exists in the United States.
Racism is a pandemic that is world wide expressed by all forms of humanity against others.
Racism is not a unique perogative of any particular group residing in the US, as it seems to be presented on Medium.
Racism, prejudice and ostracism are not restricted just to color or sexual orientation, it is pervasive in disenfranchising groups by religion, social standing, econmomic and scholastic achievments, political beliefs etc.
The means to combat this insidious disease is not by harnessing the media and trying to match hysteria with hysteria, but my self- reflection and a desire to understand. Is that not what some of the "White Women" you chastize are trying to do? Should they not be appreciated for the attempt, rather than vilified as using it as some kind of cathartic elevation or self-obsession?
People are trying, that can be appreciated too, no?
I have lived in many cultures and am the color you appear to despise, and I have also endured discrimination. I am frustrated by it, annoyed, and pissed off by it, and on a few occassions frightened by it, yet I am my choices - not my fears. I choose not to raise my fist. I choose to raise my awareness and acceptance of my fellow human.
No group has juristiction over claims of discrimination, all suffer from the ignorance and abuse of others. To overcome it we must first look within not shout in threats of violence.
Thank you for your well written article, it has given me pause to consider.
