“The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and reach it.”

As one of the horde of trundling ants in the 21st century, I am at last given time to pause during the current turn of events. Where have the years flashed to since Prince’s hit ‘1999.’ Great tune — but so long ago and yet like yesterday. (temptation break: blast it on Youtube, then come back )

Though the mitigating circumstances of this enforced pause are not welcome, like the rains that arrive in the desert, there can be some parched truths or respite taken from the lean days ahead.

I see the days of isolation not as a dead end, nor as a road with a fork and two diverging paths, but as two parallel routes with a similar intention if not similar destination.

There lies an opportunity, twisted though it may seem, amongst all the concerns raging through the media, to step away and reassess.

Is now the time to step back from the Netflix binging and news drama-mongering and scrutinize things a little closer to home?
