In Denial Our Demise Runs Amok
Riders of the apocalypse; a bear, cow, panda and eagle stand poised to feed on the carrion that is earth
Day by day desultory news ramapages across our screens. Heartbreaking images of violence inundate our news as if the offenses to humanity carry more cache than our achievements. The ghouls of the newsfeed have trounced the angels.
Images of homes obliterated, elderly being shot. Images of bombings, tortures. Hospitals bombed, civilians murdered, school children shot with automatic rifles.
Desperation and depravity flood our visual worlds.
Is this believable? Has society descended to Brando’s madness. “The horror, the horror.”
While the two largest populations on the planet, like rapacious vultures, watch the two bullies tear at each other, tear at themselves, they wait eager to scavenge and pick the carcasses of the people.
Self destruction beckons and with timing the scavengers hope to achieve through patience what they cannot by force.
