On a cinematic note, ( I know little of cinema compared to the wealth you possess as is evident in your article) In the movie the report the line attributed to Goring is, "The visitor will always be the judge and the vanquished the accused." bears a truth all too often tragic.

My thought would be, 'We need not be the tragedies of our past, we need to be the graces of our future.'
