Hi Thomas. Yours are words of wisdom from a talented writer. As one who enjoys life in Japan and the immense simplicity in a properly constructed Haiku I would, if I may, suggest those keen on mastering it also look to the traditional themes where juxtaposition (often in nature's relationship to man) is key to evoking the depth of emotion and questioning of the human condition wherein lies a poet's greatest purpose.

Thank you for the teaching. We all improve by reading fine poets such as yourself.
