Hi Cosette, I don't agree completely with your statement. Discrimination and racial prejudice does not apply on a population percentage basis. This is evidenced by the Irish 'Troubles' , Hutu and Tutsi massacres, Croat/Serbian war. I admit the notariety of being the odd being out does lend itself to more fascination than hate, however the writer's argument equally deals with the simplicity of what could be genuine interest and an attemopt to understand with immediate racial profiling. If someone asks where I come from because my behavior and speech pattern is different, I do not see it as an immediate racial slur regardless of the color of the person asking the question. Thanks for thinking. We all need to move positively toward a better acceptance of each other and our uniqueness.
