Do all sides seek a common humanity, yes, I want to believe so.

Are all sides addressing a way to move forward rather than fester in historical hate, I wonder.

As an outsider viewing the American predicament from the Orient, I wonder if the nation as a whole will avoid being usurped by the Chinese juggernaut economy and secure its place as a world leader to be seen as an example of the the best , most compassionate of societies that accepts all?

Is that in the American soul?
