The current media feed is the evil that makes us think that it is but one country, one situation, that supersedes all others. There is no competition to sink to the bottom.

You charge toward me barking, shoving, your pepper spray lashes my face,

I scream and plead as you kick my spleen, though I beg for your goodwill and grace.

I am spurned and jeered, treated as an affliction, some hideous disease.

I am here for your amusement, to beat, to shoot and abuse as you please.

I am not the only voice, not the only heart, that yells out, screaming, to adjust the wrong to right.

I am one of many who calls your honor into question, hoping to lessen the horrific plight.

I am not alone, though the media singles out our troubles as if it were the only injustice.

Thoughts cast outside, to distant borders and times beyond, brings reference to humanity’s crimes, so easy to dismiss.

The sickness is rampant it runs asunder,

A brief list below screams out humanity’s plunder:

The Rohingya persecuted by Burma

The Dinka sold into modern day slavery

The Tibetans subjugated by Chinese occupation
