A well presented opinion, Mr. Tanner. It is a sadness that you have received so few 'claps' for such a lengthy and admirably articulated article. Yet, there are so many comments. Perhaps that speaks of the readers inability to appreciate the airing of an opinion in forsake of standing upon their own soap box.

Though not in full agreement with the content it is worthy of presentation.

As to the atrocities committed and being committed by both sides, it is little more than a duplication of those committed by other regimes and then spun by propagandists and media to the salacious blinkered droves. Be it the necessity to: poison civilians in the Vietnamese jungle with chemical defoliants, nuke civilian populations in a nation already suing for peace, commit genocide for argrarian reforms or Arian superiority, or invade any neighbor for the sake of constructing a perceived political threat to maintain governance, the perpetrators and instigators of this vile human defective trait are never those who must pull the actual trigger nor those who have their existence terminated or disfigured.

Sadly those who direct their minions to perpetrate atrocities are rarely ever held accountable.

Accountability, not just beauty, rests in the eye of the beholder.

Perhaps humanity is plagued with a terminal modus operandi of distrust/self-destruction.

I enjoyed your opinions as presented.

May sensibility somehow precipitate to the fore in this ongoing tragedy. K
