A rainy day, cup of coffee, staring into oblivion, piece - though for me too short. I realize Medium has its limits but I think your distillation of ideas could expand much further. Maybe at a time in the future, you will flesh this out into a book. (A young woman staring from a window imagining the loves of strangers she sees pass on the street.)

I am not as blessed as you or David Rudder, who also commented and is a worthy poet, all I can understand differs from your opinion that love is 'complicated.'

I believe the truth of love is painfully simple, but like all great works of the human experience, those that are the most simple involve the greatest interaction of humanity.

Blessed with the same love of 43 years, which is growing, evolving, maturing in its innocence, I fear I may have cursed my sons by leaving them to expect to achieve a similar good fortune. Yet we are all, regardless of biological connection, journeying on our distinct path that reveals itself through our choices. Examples, parents, mentors, are merely guides to each individual's choices.

Keep writing, your words are refreshing and honest. K
